Synopsis :
After acquiring an astronomic debt with people of questionable reputation, Hayate Ayazaki's irresponsible parents have given the debt to their son as a Christmas present and left him to fend off on his own. Even though Hayate is unbelievably strong and hardworking, this is the last straw for him and decides to become a kidnapper in order to lead an easier life.

Unfortunately, a poor choice of words and circumstances leave his first "victim", the rich and pampered Nagi Sanzenin, convinced that he has actually just confessed his love for her. After a change of heart after meeting the beautiful Maria, Hayate actually saves Nagi from real kidnappers and the only reward he asks for is a job.

Now Hayate is employed full-time by Nagi's family as her butler and protector: Hayate, the combat butler!

Hayate no Gotoku atau in English Hayate the Combat Butler menceritakan tentang Ayasaki Hayate, seorang pemuda yang dibuang orang tuanya dengan dijual ke Yakuza demi menutup hutang orang tuanya yang suka berjudi. Pada pelariannya dari Yakuza, Hayate bertemu dengan Nagi Sanzenin. Pada awalnya dia bermaksud menculik Nagi, untuk mendapatkan tebusan demi menutup hutang orang tuanya. Akan tetapi, karena kesalah pahaman, dia malah diangkat menjadi Butler dari keluarga Sanzenin ini.

Hayate no Gotoku diangkat dari manga dengan judul yang sama, diterbitkan oleh Shonen Sunday. Animenya sendiri sudah diputar mulai 1 April 2007. Dan menurut pendapatku, salah satu anime paling konyol dan wajib ditonton. Di anime ini ada banyak sekali anime yang diparodikan, seperti Black Lagoon, Death Note, Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Big O, Full Metal Alchemist, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ranma 1/2, Naruto, Shakugan no Shana, Inu Yasha, Geshinken, Pokemon, Shingetsutan Tsukihime, Sola, Ruroni Kenshin, Sailor Moon, dan masih banyak lagi.
